Yvonne Blomer is an award-winning poet, and author of the critically acclaimed travel memoir Sugar Ride: Cycling from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur. Her most recent books of poetry include As if a Raven and the anthologies  Refugium: Poems for the Pacific and Sweet Water: Poems for the Watersheds, which she edited for Caitlin PressShe is the past Poet Laureate of Victoria, B.C. and lives, works and raises her family on the traditional territories of the WSÁNEĆ (Saanich), Lkwungen (Songhees), Wyomilth (Esquimalt) peoples of the Coast Salish Nation.

 

Raoul Fernandes lives and writes on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, BC). His first collection of poems, Transmitter and Receiver (Nightwood Editions, 2015) won the Dorothy Livesay Award and the Debut-litzer Award for Poetry in 2016 and was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and the Canadian Authors Association Award for Poetry.  He has been published in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including the Best of the Best Canadian Poetry in English.

Cree poet Wanda John-Kehewin uses writing as a therapeutic medium through which to understand and to respond to the near decimation of First Nations culture, language, and tradition. She has two poetry books published by Talonbooks, two children’s readers and is publishing a graphic novel in early 2022. She finds time to write between the lines. She calls Coquitlam her home, until the summertime when she treks to the plains of Alberta to visit family and learn more about Cree culture and tradition. She is currently in her first year of her MFA at UBC.

Jen Sookfong Lee was born and raised in Vancouver’s East Side, and she now lives with her son in North Burnaby. Her books include The Conjoined, nominated for International Dublin Literary Award and a finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, The Better Mother, a finalist for the City of Vancouver Book Award, The End of EastGentlemen of the Shade, and Chinese New Year. Jen teaches at The Writers’ Studio Online with Simon Fraser University, edits fiction for Wolsak & Wynn, and co-hosts the literary podcast, Can’t Lit.


Host Fiona Tinwei Lam has authored three books of poetry, including her most recent collection, Odes & Laments, as well as a children’s book about dealing with grief, The Rainbow Rocket. She edited The Bright Well: Contemporary Canadian Poems on Facing Cancer, and has co-edited two nonfiction anthologies.  Her poems have thrice appeared on Poetry in Transit.  Her prose and poetry appear in more than 35 anthologies, including The Best Canadian Poetry (2010 and 2020 editions) and Forcefield: 77 Women Poets of BC. Her poetry videos have screened at festivals locally and internationally. She teaches at SFU Continuing Studies. fionalam.net
